AThere is no pool at Empress Hotel. However, there are numerous beaches for swimming, surfing, and sea kayaking nearby. Top swimming beaches in the area include La Jolla Shores, Torrey Pines City Beach, Windansea, and La Jolla Cove.
Is the hotel close to beaches?
AEmpress Hotel is within easy walking distance to several beautiful beaches. It’s just 0.5 miles (a 10-minute walk) to world-renowned La Jolla Cove and to Children’s Pool Beach (where you can often see seals, sea lions, and their pups). You can also walk to the whale-watching viewpoint at Cuvier Park (0.3 miles away).

AEmpress Hotel offers secure valet parking for $28 per vehicle per night with in-and-out privileges. We also provide car charging stations. Park your car and go for a stroll – everything you need is within walking distance in the Village of La Jolla.

ASeaWorld is about 8 miles from Empress Hotel (a 20-minute drive) and the San Diego Zoo is about 18 miles (a 30-minute drive). We’re located just north of San Diego proper in charming La Jolla, which is known for its white-sand coves, clifftop village, and stunning coastal scenery.

AOur restaurant Manhattan of La Jolla is located on the lobby level of Empress Hotel. Diners enjoy fine Italian cuisine with a New York twist in an elegant atmosphere, plus weekday happy hours and live jazz on the weekends. Manhattan is open nightly for dinner and on Tuesday through Friday for lunch.
