This just in! La Jolla is host to an eclectic and exciting downtown and restaurant scene. Want to know where all the cool kids are going this fall? Or how about something to please our more sophisticated side? Here we give you a local’s guide to what’s hot in La Jolla, and our staff picks and highlights!
UTC Certified Farmers' Market
Every Thursday from 3:00 pm -7:00 pm, this low-key farmers' market is the perfect place to meander at your own pace.
Elixir Espresso & Wine Bar
As one of the newest kids on the block, Elixir is fueling our most essential needs: coffee and alcohol! Add to this crepes and gelato and you have yourself a little bit of Italian heaven right here in La Jolla.
Grater Grilled Cheese
Grater Grilled Cheese opened about six weeks ago and has taken the classic sandwich and gone crazy, in a good, cheesy way. Need an example? How about their Puerto Nuevo Style Lobster with five different cheeses, butter fried lobster, snow crab and their signature Sierra Nevada pale ale chipotle aioli.
The Mad Beet
A 180-degree departure from grilled cheese, The Mad Beet opened up a couple of months ago and serves up smoothies and acai bowls that their customers love. Viva a la health!
If you’re into sandwiches the way we’re into sandwiches, Urbane Cafe could be your “play on repeat” place while you’re in La Jolla. They make their bread fresh and just opened two months ago.
Now you know where to go!
