Tiger Woods made golfing history in the 2008 U.S. Open Championship. After playing a brutal 90 holes and suffering from an injury that left him limping, he beat Rocco Mediate in a sudden-death round right here at our very own Torrey Pines Golf Course.
The story is just one of the reasons why golfers flock to the city-owned golf course. Torrey Pines is also one of the only golf courses in the U.S. that is accessible to the public and yet has all of the qualities of a private course - with arguably one of the most incredible views in golf, the Pacific Ocean.
