La Jolla Art & Wine Festival
Autumn may be months away but it will be here before you know it along with the 2014 La Jolla Art & Wine Festival. This marks the event’s sixth year and it will be happening on Saturday, October 11 and Sunday, October 12. Free and open to the general public, the Festival features the works of more than 150 well-regarded artists from Southern California and Baja. Plus, it’s a fabulous fundraiser for La Jolla Elementary, which is in need of funds for such programs as science, music, art, technology, and physical education. You can help contribute by taking part in the silent auction, which always boasts a number of great items. Since the Festival began in 2009, more than $330,000 has been raised for the school.

One of the highlights of the La Jolla Art & Wine Festival is the Wine & Beer Garden. Brews and varietals from San Diego and around the globe will be represented. Past breweries included Stone Brewing Company, Lightning Brewery, Ballast Point Brewing and Spirits, Green Flash Brewing Co., and Belching Beaver Brewery. As for wineries that have graced the Festival in years past, they range from Francis Ford Coppola Winery, Bird Rock Fine Wine, and Gen7 Wines to San Pasqual Winery, La Serenissima Vineyards & Winery, and Schlossadler International Wines. Parents with kids will appreciate the Family Art Center where a host of activities are offered. You’ll discover arts and crafts along with yoga, Spanish, and dance classes. Scavenger hunts are also on the schedule. Learn more about the La Jolla Art & Wine Festival online at
