1000 North Harbor Drive
San Diego, CA 92101
San Diego honors and celebrates the brave men and women of the military during Fleet Week. This is a tradition that started in California back in 1935. Today, a full week of events celebrates the heroes of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. Active military ships dock in San Diego, greeted by the appreciation and admiration of locals and visitors alike.
The Big Bay Bash occurs on October 18th, starting at 10 a.m. Enjoy the festivities with free entertainment, games, and events for all ages. A limited-entry beer garden will offer a special social scene for the adults. Dance along to top hits, rock, and contemporary music, or win a prize at a carnival booth. You can try your hand at several tosses – baseballs, milk bottles, and basketballs.
The little ones will delight in all the day’s fun. Kid-friendly activities include a 25-foot Climbing Wall, Face Painting, a Moonbounce, Inflatable Slide, and Airbrush Tattoos. Come on out to participate in the patriotic fun all week long, with an Air Show, Festival, and several fun sports challenges.
While you’re here, head into the USS Midway Museum. Learn about the area’s rich history as you stroll through this popular naval aviation attraction. If you plan to visit near the Pacific coast for Fleet Week, be sure to book reservations at our hotel soon.
