Second City's Nut-Cracking Holiday Revue At La Jolla Playhouse
This holiday season, head over to the Mandell Weiss Forum at the La Jolla Playhouse to see "The Second City's Nut-Cracking Holiday Revue." Running from November 28 through December 21, 2014, this wild and wacky show is guaranteed to set the wheels of infectious laughter in motion at every performance. You'll be seeing a brand new production that is chock full of improvisation, sketches, and original songs that takes the magic of the season and turns it on its pretty little head. For those of you comedy aficionados who saw the group's last show, a love letter to San Diego called "The Good, the Bad and the I-5," you'll know these funny folks know their stuff.

In fact, The Second City, which has been in existence for half a century, is the veritable leader in sketch comedy that has its roots in improvisation. The group has theatres and training centers in Chicago and Toronto, as well as a training center in Hollywood. What's more, there are nearly a dozen full-time touring troupes, a corporate communications division, and TV and film departments. Referred to as "a comedy empire" by The New York Times, The Second City is clearly second to none when it comes to this genre. What will make their upcoming holiday show even more fun is the way the 400-seat Mandell Weiss Forum is set up. It features a thrust stage, allowing audience members to surround it on all three sides for optimum viewing. Purchase tickets online at http://www.lajollaplayhouse.org/holiday-revue.
