Shamu Shows and Encounters

No visit to SeaWorld is complete without seeing one or all of the live Shamu Shows and Encounters. Watch the enormous killer whales as they finesse through choreographed moves, jumps, and dives during One Ocean. You can learn about killer whales and go behind-the-scenes at the training session at The Shamu Story, or be amazed as they perform to rock and roll hits during the spectacular night show, Shamu Rocks!

Animal Lovers

SeaWorld is for animal lovers of all ages and there are many opportunities to get close to the animals. Don’t miss the designated feeding times where guests can hand feed the bat rays and sea lions. For behind-the-scenes animal encounters, SeaWorld Up-Close and Penguins Up-Close are just some of the tours where guests can get a more in depth look at the lives of the animals. Dine with Shamu is a very special program where guests gain “back stage” access to learn about the special bond between trainers and killer whales. Just remember to reserve a seat, as space is limited.

FAQs

  • What is the soak zone?

The “Soak Zone” at Shamu Stadium are the seats located on the edge of the water closest to the action. Guests in those seats can get very wet during certain shows. If these are your seats, pack a parka for each person or you can buy parkas at the gift shop.
  • Are there any tips for visiting the park?

To make the most of your time at the park, schedule your time around the shows and get in line for the popular rides when the park opens. As you’ll be in the sun all day, don’t forget to bring sunblock and remember to drink lots of water throughout the day.
