My husband and I stayed there last year in the Jacuzzi suite for our wedding, along with many guests. We have decided there is no place we would rather spend our 1 year anniversary.

Just wanted to say Kevin and I were REALLY impressed with the Empress Hotel this past weekend as a place to stay for us and our wedding guests. We loved how you put almost all of our guests' rooms together on one wing of the same floor of the hotel. The service was great with the valet, and the flexible room-cleaning (we were getting ready in our suite until 5pm!), and the suite was really a cool room!! The complimentary continental breakfast is also great. Our wedding was an absolutely beautiful experience :)And I want to thank you, Somer, as well, for guiding me through everything Empress Hotel had to offer for our wedding. You were super organized and very thoughtful of our needs. And I thought the hotel rates were a really good deal, too. I would recommend the Empress to anyone who was looking for a place to stay!!!

From your contact with us all throughout the process, to the day we arrived, you were always there to assist us. Our guests were thoroughly pleased with the hotel and would definitely stay there again if they were in the area as would we. Thanks so much for all your help, the wedding went off without a hitch (we don't hold you responsible for the May Gray). The suite worked out beautifully although we never did get a chance to use the Jacuzzi! Thanks for the upgrade.

We got a very large block of rooms here for our wedding recently and we had a great experience. Somer was great to work with and very willing to accommodate our requests. All of our guests loved the location as it was walking distance to restaurants, shops, and the water. We looked around at a lot of hotels before deciding on the Empress and I think we definitely made the right choice.

We booked the Empress for our out-of-town guests for my daughter's wedding weekend. We had a large group and everyone was so impressed with the hotel, the location and the staff. Somer, Alan, Nick and John (to name a few) couldn't have been nicer or more attentive to the needs of a crazy mother-of-the-bride. I truly cannot think of anything that we needed or requested that was not done for us. We had chosen an alternate hotel for those who did not want to stay in the Village, but it was under construction and did not re-open in time for the wedding; the Empress gladly absorbed those few reservations as well into our block at the last minute. I cannot recommend this hotel and staff highly enough.

We had a great time at the Empress Hotel for our wedding last week! Our guests were delighted, and so were we. We loved the breakfast, and my parents' room (where all the girls and I got ready for the wedding) even had a spectacular view of La Jolla.
The staff also made the weekend extra-special for my fiancé and I by upgrading our room to the spa suite upon our arrival. This was the nicest personal touch. Not only were we impressed, but so were all of our friends and family when we gushed over your hospitality! We relaxed in the tub and mentally thanked you guys every night. :) My now-husband and I are both musicians, so we were even able to take some time to play on the grand piano that was in our suite. And we definitely noticed the piano decor in the hallway! Overall we had a perfect weekend. Thanks for being a part of our special day.

First of all I'd love to thank you for upgrading my husband and I to your suite! That was awesome to be able to have that room for our wedding night and for the night before to get ready in the morning. I will definitely recommend your hotel to anyone that I know needing to stay in La Jolla. I appreciate being able to use the sundeck area after our wedding so that we could still all hang out and have a good time together. That night was truly the most fun night of our lives and being able to congregate at the patio there just extended our most fun night ever a few more hours! Thanks again for everything! My husband and I were married at the La Jolla Woman's Club and the hotel was a great pick, only a few blocks away. My bridesmaids and I got ready at the hotel and our suite was amazing with plenty of room. Coming back to our beautiful room that night was a perfect ending to our day. The staff was so accommodating and our room was ready for our 1 pm early check in request. I would recommend the Empress to anyone who is looking for a great hotel in beautiful La Jolla.

We had a fantastic experience at the Empress. We booked a room block for our wedding weekend, and from the beginning of the whole process to the end of the wedding, we received nothing but wonderful service.
My parents and my husband's parents both booked suites to host our families, and I booked a suite for the night before and the night of our wedding. On Sunday, I didn't want to leave. I wanted to live there. I wanted to take a daily soak in the Jacuzzi tub, and sleep each night on the amazingly comfortable, soft bed.
The "regular" rooms were just as nice, according to my brother. Apparently, the Empress had done some renovations prior to our stay.
Probably the most impressive point of service was the valet. Being a wedding group, we were in and out of the hotel constantly, running errands, meeting up with family and friends, etc. The valets were always prompt and friendly, even though I'm sure it was annoying to have to jog to the garage so often. One valet went to get my mom's camera out of her car. Another helped a friend of mine out when her car wouldn't start, offering to call a tow for her. Another even brought my husband's car down to La Jolla Cove on the night of our wedding, so we could put the empty kegs in it, then drove it for us right back up to the hotel.
The front desk staff was always friendly; our guests even commented to us on how helpful they always were. The warm cookies in the lobby each day never hurt, either!
If I could live at the Empress, I would. :-)

Thanks so much for all you did to make it a special event for Brittany and John. We have nothing but wonderful things to say about the staff at the Empress Hotel. David worked with us in May to show us the rooms and reserve the perfect one for us. Thanks for getting a room for us at the last minute for Tiffany and the “special rate” for Brittany and John’s extended stay. All of the staff we came in contact with was friendly, helpful, and professional. We would definitely recommend the Empress Hotel to our friends and family. Look forward to seeing you the next time we’re in La Jolla.
