The hills are alive with the beauty of flowers. Each year from March until early May, 50 acres within North County San Diego come alive with Giant Tecolote Ranunculus at The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch. For more than 60 years guests have enjoyed this small window of sunshine where the entire hillside is in bloom and the field itself is awash with all sorts of color. A sight from far and wide, guests come from all over to visit the spring season at The Flower Fields in Carlsbad. Open to the public seven days a week from 9am until 6pm, guests can enjoy strolling through the fields on their own, wagon rides with the kiddos or a full calendar of events that's chock full of entertainment the entire family will love. During the spring season, The Flower Fields already have a full calendar filled with fun things like Kid's Day - where arts and crafts, face painting, a maze and more are all available for the little ones. On April 4, classic jazz performer Jake Taylor Smith will showcase tunes from his debut album that mixes the '40s and '50s with a bit of modern flare. Few people can resist Bluegrass Day, where traditional bluegrass music performed on the guitar, banjo and fiddle become the perfect soundtrack during your day amongst the flowers. The season closes off with a special celebration for Mother's Day, a time of the year where San Diego's sunshine is out in full force and everyone is stopping to smell the flowers. Don't miss this opportunity to see The Flower Fields in Carlsbad during their primetime, this spring in California!
