Sunny Jim’s Cave/The Seven Sisters
Found on La Jolla Cove’s northern lip are the La Jolla Caves, seven drawn out fissures, hence the name The Seven Sisters. The fissures can be entered from the ocean when the tide is low enough. Sunny Jim’s Cave can be reached by walking up 145 steps and through a man-made tunnel. This is the largest of the area caves and quite a sight—don’t miss it! Phone: 858.459.0746
La Jolla Cove
La Jolla Cove is an intimate and beautiful beach nestled between adjacent sandstone cliffs. It is one of the most photographed beaches in Southern California. Address: 1100 Coast Boulevard
Torrey Pines State Reserve
One of the wildest stretches of land on the Southern California coast, Torrey Pines State Reserve abounds with unspoiled beaches, rare and elegant Torrey Pine trees and a lagoon that is vital to migrating seabirds. Children’s Pool
Walk into the ocean and surround yourself with the sound of crashing waves on this unique cement walkway with a protected guard rail. It’s also a great opportunity to do some seal watching! Address: 850 Coast Boulevard
La Jolla Shores Beach

Windansea Beach
Known for its picturesque scenery and surf breaks created by underwater reefs, Windansea Beach is a haven for the La Jolla surfing community, as well as a beautiful retreat. This area is perfect for intimate picnics, gatherings and sunbathing. Address: 6800 Neptune Place
Black’s Beach
Black’s Beach is the ultimate La Jolla surfing destination and is surrounded by 300 foot cliffs. More difficult to access than most beaches, Black’s Beach offers a serene and secluded beach experience.
Marine Street Beach
Body boarders and body surfers love the thunderous waves at the Marine Street Beach. Not an ideal family spot due to no public restrooms or picnic areas and rough surf, this stretch of beach is more ideal for those looking for great scenery and wave-crashing fun.
La Jolla Underwater Park
The La Jolla Underwater Park is a 6,000 acre look-but-don’t touch ecological refuge. This is a must visit for snorkelers and scuba divers.
